Materials needed:
Sewing Machine in good working order
80/12 needle in machine
Light colored thread for piecing
Straight pins
Thread snips
Small pressing mat and iron for work at your
station
Rotary cutter and ruler for cutting pieces for
blocks (ruler needs to measure 14” minimum)
Best Press (needed before cutting!)
Fabrics listed (no need to have batting/backing at
class time)
FABRIC REQUIREMENTS FOR WITH A TWIST
1 Layer Cake (42 10” squares)
1 yd background fabric
½ yd for binding (7 strips measuring 2.25”
each selvage to selvage)
3 ¼ yds regular width fabric for backing OR
using wide backing, 1 5/8 yds (always
cheaper to go with wide backing!)
1 5/8 yds batting
