6 ½” x 24” acrylic ruler (or 8 ½” x 24”)

Sewing machine in good working order
Good quality sewing thread

1 ¾ yd. light background fabric
½ yd. each of two small scale prints for Nine Patches
1 yd. tone or tone for accent border and binding
1 yd. large scale print for outer border
64” x 76” predominantly cotton batting (1 ¾ yd. by 90”)
64” x 76” backing fabric (3 ¾ yd. cut in half
and sewn together, horizontal seam on back)
1st session – Skills: Rotary cutting; ¼” seam allowance; strip-piecing
Homework – Make 32 Nine Patches
2nd session – Skills: Measure and square up Nine Patches; cut alternate squares; row assembly
Homework – Assemble patchwork of Nine Patches and alternate squares
3rd session – Skills: Cutting and attaching borders; Basting; Quilting strategies
Homework – Quilt the quilt
4th session – Skills: Squaring up quilt by trimming; Making and attaching binding; Label
Homework – Bind and label the quilt
